The A223802 has built-in 4 HDMI output ports supporting up to 8Kx4K@60Hz resolution (@4 ports) or 4Kx2k@60Hz (X4 ports) for single port output. Compared to the previous HDMI 1.4 version, it increases the overall image transmission efficiency and complies with the HDMI 2.0b version specification.
Embedded with 8 independent audio test signal generators (FL, FR, RL, RR, FC, LFE, RLC, RRC), the A223802 is able to enable/disable volume, tone, tone frequency, sample rate, sample bit, and sweep, providing users up to 48 kinds of combinations for testing.
The ARC (Audio Return Channel) test supports 5.1 audio channels with a 192 KHz sample rate per channel and 16/20/24 bits per sample size. The A223802 can act as an ARC Receiver to receive the audio signal returned by the Transmitter through an HDMI cable to check if the ARC function of the DUT is normally activated.
HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) is a protection mechanism used to ensure that digitized video and audio data will not be illegally copied during transmission. The A223802 supports HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 versions which allow users to switch in between, also check if the HDCP is normally activated and the related handshake information from the output screen with the built-in dedicated HDCP test images.
With the support of HDR (High Dynamic Range) contrast image output, the brightness range and color level are greatly improved to near the real image seen by the human eyes. The test items of HDR function are aimed at brightness, contrast, color, sharpness and dynamic images, etc. primarily the factors that affect the visual perception of consumers. Users can freely adjust the HDR metadata to perform the HDR function related tests. The A223802 that supports HDR10 and HLG has built-in test patterns of various HDR standards, such as grayscale, color bars, window patterns, etc., for use as desired.
SCDC (Status and Control Data Channel) is a new communication function of HDMI 2.0 that can exchange status and control information between the signal source and the sink. The A223802 can display the important signal indicators such as TMDS Scrambler Status and Channel Error Count in SCDC in real-time through the screen output, which is convenient for users to interpret during the test.
In addition to the basic color gamut, the A223802 also supports a wide color gamut including RGB / ITU-601 / ITU-709 / xvYCC-601 / xvYCC-709 / sYCC-601 / Adobe YCC-601 / Adobe RGB / BT.2020-YC / DCI-P3 RGB / BT.2020-RGB. It can set YCbCr 4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0 Pixel encoding format and 24 / 30 / 36 bits color depth, providing a wider color range to achieve true natural color and high-resolution images, which satisfies the high-standard 8K display inspection requirements of today.
EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) is a VESA-defined data standard for identifying DDC displays. The A223802 directly reads/compares/writes in the EDID register inside the display through I2C, which includes the suppliers’ information, image size, color setting, frequency range, etc. In the meantime, users can use software to edit EDID and control functions through an external PC to display the complete analysis results.
CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is a feature of HDMI allowing users to control multiple connected devices through a remote controller. It solves the problem of requiring several remote controllers to control the corresponding devices. Using the CEC function to simulate the DUT, it is convenient for users to rapidly verify the device, providing a variety of verification applications.
Chroma 2238 Video Pattern Generator integrates complete executable programs with timings, test patterns, and audio that can be configured freely according to testing needs. Not only does the equipment carry up to 2000 timing patterns and 5000 images, users also can add their own test patterns to meet a large variety of test specifications.
The built-in resolution test chart can accurately indicate the correct scale according to different Timings. In addition to geometric shapes and aspect ratio tests (4:3, 16:9), other test patterns such as Color Bar and Grayscale are also included. With these test patterns, users can easily determine the display's imaging quality and simultaneously monitor the HDCP and EDID execution status on the on-screen display, especially useful for R&D, production and QA purposes.
The A223802 is a reliable and impartial signal module that delivers best-in-class image quality inspections and stringent signal integrity tests.
High conductivity beryllium copper improves the conductivity between components and reduces electromagnetic radiation leakage interfering with the DUT, in compliance with CE/EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards.
Licensed by The Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers in Japan, a variety of 8K Ultra-High Definition wide color gamut test patterns are available. (optional)
