Chroma ATE to Showcase Advanced Packaging AOI, Metrology, and Integrated Automotive Display Test Solutions at Touch Taiwan 2025

At this year's Touch Taiwan Electronic Equipment Exhibition, Chroma ATE will present its automated optical inspection (AOI) solutions for advanced semiconductor packaging and integrated, modular testing systems for automotive signal and power. These innovations target the booming markets of AI and HPC advanced semiconductor packaging as well as automotive displays. On display will be Chroma's panel-level AOI solution and its brand-new 27016 Integration Tester. For high-refresh-rate displays, Chroma will exhibit the DisplayPort/USB Type-C dual-output display test module A223813 and the HDMI gaming display test module A223814. The exhibition booth will feature five key themes: Automotive Display / PLP, AR, DisplayPort, HDMI, and USB Type-C, where visitors can experience various testing applications firsthand.

AOI and Metrology Solution for Advanced Packaging Glass Substrate Process 

Chroma's AOI and metrology solution for advanced packaging glass substrate processes is built on its proprietary BLiS™ technology. The system provides non-destructive and rapid surface profile measurement along with algorithmic analysis. Chroma's optical AOI and metrology solution supports multiple probe configurations for different use cases, enabling highly effective measurements for applications such as TGV/VIA, RDL, and overlay. Measurement results are traceable to NIST standards, and the system includes powerful 3D profile analysis tools for detailed sample structure examination. Chroma's proprietary precision system design and specialized algorithms ensure excellent measurement quality even at sub-micron resolutions, coupled with a high-precision movement platform enabling enhanced positioning and measurement accuracy for complex structures.

Designed for Complex Automotive Panel Specifications and Extreme Power Conditions

Modern automotive display systems—such as instrument clusters, infotainment systems, center consoles, rearview mirrors, and head-up displays—utilize various automotive panels, each with unique signal requirements depending on the manufacturer and application. To address the growing automotive display market, Chroma will showcase the 27016 Integration Tester, designed for automotive panels of widely different shapes, specifications, and resolutions. This all-in-one solution supports FPD-Link, GMSL, and APIX signals along with a programmable power source, which enables comprehensive disturbance and compatibility testing for complex automotive panel specifications. By integrating software, hardware, and firmware, the 27016 significantly enhances testing convenience and provides an integrated, modular solution for signal and power testing.

High-Refresh-Rate DisplayPort and HDMI Display Testing Solutions

Chroma will exhibit its flagship video signal test solutions: the DisplayPort 2.1 dual-port display test module A223813 and the HDMI 2.1b gaming display test module A223814. Designed to be paired with the Chroma 2238 Video Pattern Generator, these modules provide high-quality and high-spec display testing. The A223813 features an innovative 2x2 design with two independent graphics engines and dual DisplayPort/USB-C output ports. This enables simultaneous testing of two devices or configurations with different timing and patterns. Supporting a total bandwidth of 80Gbps per single output, it delivers resolutions up to 16K and includes test modes such as Adaptive-Sync, MST, UHBR20, LTTPR, and Panel Replay. The A223814 HDMI 2.1b module supports up to 10K@120Hz resolution, with a total bandwidth of 48Gbps. It offers test modes such as VRR, QMS, QFT, Input Lag, and ALLM, along with built-in HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG test patterns for high-quality image evaluation.

AR Display Testing Solutions for Smart Medical Applications

For medical display testing, Chroma's High Accuracy Universal Measuring Probe 71241 enables rapid brightness and color measurement of display panels, supporting Gamma, DICOM, Delta E, Flicker, and Color Gamut analysis. For the AR industry, Chroma will showcase the high-resolution scientific-grade 71803 2D Color Analyzer series. This instrument provides fast and precise measurements of chromaticity, brightness, contrast, uniformity, and correlated color temperature, significantly enhancing convenience and efficiency in optical imaging quality testing for both R&D and production.

Reducing Global E-Waste: Standardized USB Type-C Testing

In response to EU regulations mandating a standardized USB Type-C charging interface for mobile and electronic devices, Chroma has launched the USB-C signal module A223810 and the power module A223808. These solutions support Power Delivery 3.2 at 140W (28V/5A) source and load specification testing and include USB Pass-Through testing functionality. The USB-C module meets USB 3.2 Gen 2 specifications with 10Gbps transmission speeds, making it suitable for testing power banks, adapters, USB storage devices, chargers, and hubs.
