Promoting a "Carbon Handprint", Reducing Supply Chain Carbon Emissions, Achieving Net Zero
With Taiwan set to impose a carbon tax in 2025, officially entering the era of carbon-pricing, Chroma places equal emphasis on energy conservation and carbon reduction while pursuing business growth. In 2023, the company reduced its carbon emissions by 1,696 metric tons of CO2e, with a 54.89% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions intensity compared to 2021 (baseline year). Total waste was reduced by 18.33%, and the recycling rate increased to 75.59%.
Beyond its own energy conservation and carbon reduction efforts, Chroma aims to play the role of a "carbon handprint" in the industrial value chain by taking proactive measures to combat climate change and reduce carbon emissions. The company leverages its expertise in precision measurement and comprehensive smart automation solutions to facilitate the industry's transition to net zero. Green design principles are integrated throughout the product lifecycle by enhancing equipment energy efficiency, improving product performance, and reducing product size and weight to lower energy consumption during transportation and installation. From 2020 to 2023, Chroma's regenerative testing equipment reduced carbon emissions by a cumulative 242,218 metric tons, equivalent to the carbon absorption capacity of around 534 NYC Central Parks.
Chroma ATE has outlined five sustainability goals, focusing on technology and products, social impact, a friendly and healthy workplace, environmental sustainability, and a responsible supply chain and manufacturing process. The company is committed to achieving net-zero emissions at its office locations by 2030 and across all operations by 2050.
